Werner Mannaers (*1954, Schoten, Belgium) is a Belgian artist who lives and works in Antwerp. In his works he incorporates a number of art historical references and philosophical quotations, as well as elements from pop culture within the framework of a „sampling technique“. Mannaers does not try to hide the reality of an improvised way of working: trial and error are not concealed, but deliberately used and emphasized in his work as an aesthetic feature.
